You may think your audience is disengaged or that you can’t be heard in all the noise. Your audience is craving something that screens can’t give them.

You may think your audience is disengaged or that you can’t be heard in all the noise. Your audience is craving something that screens can’t give them. It’s why your best clients are not coming to you from your content, they’re coming from proximity.

Think about when you were back in high school. Were you like me (and let’s face it, every other teenager) who swore we would be best friends forever? How many of these forever friends do you keep in touch with today? There are two sides to this coin… most you haven’t seen for decades, but the impression of the time you spent together in-person lets you pick up right where you left off. Others focus on who they spend time with now, and you are out of sight, out of mind.

You want your clients to be like those high school besties. The ones who keep track of you and make an effort to get together, not just follow you on socials.

You’re showing up consistently, posting, emailing, and showing up on stories. And yet something feels thin if you never connect in person.

This missing piece names what’s actually happening and why the answer isn’t more content. It’s a different kind of experience entirely. Your audience isn’t checked out. They’re waiting for you to build the room.

Content builds familiarity. In-person builds trust at a depth content can’t reach.

Your quietest followers are often your most ready buyers. Don’t misread a lack of engagement as a lack of interest. They are waiting for the right invitation.

The entrepreneurs whose businesses shifted dramatically can often trace it back to one room they walked into. Create that room for your people.

Consuming more content doesn’t create transformation

So many of us entrepreneurs have been consuming content for years, and yet, we are still feeling stuck. How many times do you hear that? Even in Zoom rooms and virtual networking groups where we feel that we ‘know’ each other.

Have you been in a virtual networking breakout room where you finally get a conversation going, and the time expires, bringing you back together, cutting someone off mid-sentence? We have more to say, but not the space to say it.

In-person retreats, where you meet face-to-face and have real, interactive conversations, deliver a level of intimacy and growth that can’t be replicated behind a screen. The time and space to savor getting to know someone with all of your senses, and the space created to let it happen.

This is where the movie line really works! If you build it, they will come…
